Having an Off Day? Try this…
Sunday was one of those days
when I felt like going back to bed before anything worse
happened. Early in the morning, I set up a can of bug spray
to fumigate our living room. We bought a couch on a garage
sale, and since the owner had a dog and a rabbit, I wanted
to make sure there were no bugs in it. On our way out of the
house, I got distracted and forgot to turn it on… Then we
went somewhere and when were leaving the parking lot, my cell
phone blew out of my hands and landed on the floor… I picked
up the phone, got in the car, and rear-ended a car in the
parking lot… The woman who owned the car came out and we
exchanged information… Then, we went out for lunch at our
favorite Indian restaurant, but the food was terrible…
Finally I gave up and went home… As I was lying on the
couch, I remembered the words of my meditation teacher, he
said, “Nothing neutralizes and eliminates negative energy
more than water.” I went upstairs and took a nice shower
and chanted, OM MANE PADME HUM. This mantra is used in
Tibetan Buddhism to transform your negative thinking into
the mind of a Buddha. After the shower and I felt renewed.
Then, I meditated for a few minutes and felt re-centered
again.
I’m not sure why my energy
was off center that day, but I know that after taking a few
minutes to shower, chant, and meditate, I felt centered
again. My energy was bright and enjoyed a much nicer
evening. If you ever feel off center, try one of these
techniques or maybe all three. I can assure you that you
will feel much better afterwards.
American Buddhism
Rama - Dr. Frederick Lenz
(1950-1998) was a warm and candid Buddhist teacher. He was
well known for his best-selling books: Surfing the
Himalayas, Snowboarding to Nirvana, Lifetimes: True Accounts
of Reincarnation, and others. He developed a form of
meditation that emphasizes the importance of focus and
concentration to strengthen and clarify the mind. This type
of mediation is called Chakra Meditation. It is an
adaptation of Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism, Kundalini Yoga,
and Original Zen. After 28 years of teaching, Rama inspired
and motivated more than half a million students in the
United States and Europe. He was an exciting meditation
teacher and an incredible being of light who was able to
lead his students into higher states of mind and well-being.
The following excerpt comes
from the book
The Last Incarnation. It is a collection of stories
written by several of his students. Enjoy.

inspirational journey of healing and self-discovery. Dr.
Jeanne Achterberg has a wonderful voice that draws the
listener into her personal experiences and brings hope
and courage for people who want to try alternative
healing methods. I highly recommend this book for people
dealing with Cancer and other chronic conditions."
Roger Cantu, Author of
Powerful Mental Development.
Book Description
Advances in integrative
medical care have made the power of positive intent one
of the hottest topics in the public eye. But few if any
have stepped forward with scientific evidence that
intention does in fact heal. Now, pioneering
psychologist Dr. Jeanne Achterberg presents Intentional
Healing, a full-length audio program that provides
definitive research and practical guidance on how our
inner resources can profoundly benefit those in need of
medical attention. Drawing on two decades of research
and personal experience with thousands of patients, Dr.
Achterberg outlines proven techniques for leveraging
positive intent against the progression of diseases,
both physical and emotional. Six fascinating CDs cover a
broad range of intentional healing applications,
including: * Distant healing, prayer, and energy
healing--the transference of positive spiritual energy
from one person to another * Transpersonal imagery--how
visual and audio images evoked in the brain unlock
healing responses within the body * Self-intentional
healing--how to focus positive intent inward for better
health. Highlighting the vital role of human
interconnection across all platforms of healing,
Intentional Healing gives listeners a powerful ally
along the path to wellness.

God and the Brain
"What does a couple of
Christian Nuns and a couple of Tibetan Buddhist Monks
have in common?
It's not what you think...
They both participated in Dr. Andrew Newberg research,
which is part of this fascinating audio book. Dr.
Newberg shows how the practice of meditation and prayer
affect the brain in a positive manner. His lecture is
very interesting, thought provoking, and profound."
Roger Cantu, Author of
Powerful Mental Development.
Book Description
Are we hard-wired for
spiritual experience? And if so, why? On God and the
Brain, Dr. Andrew Newberg reveals surprising new
evidence that the human capacity for transcendent
consciousness may have been a critical factor in our
survival and evolutionary success as a species. This
pioneer of brain studies and co-author of Why God Won't
Go Away (Ballantine, 2006) presents the first audio
course on his groundbreaking research into the
fascinating links between spirituality, biology, and the
evolution of the brain. With new material from Dr.
Newberg's research available nowhere else, this 3-CD
program features: * How prayer and meditation alter and
enhance the physiology of the brain * "Neurotheology":
how our brain chemistry shapes our sense of morality,
meaning, and divine connection * Inside the heads of the
optimist and the pessimist--exploring the survival value
of positive thinking * The biology of forgiveness: why
this spiritual act boosts the health of the nervous
system * A special guided exercise for enhancing the
listener's neurological capacity for balance and peace
Whether one is a devout Christian, a Buddhist meditator,
or even a dedicated atheist, the part of the brain that
controls spiritual experience has a profound impact on
our entire identity. On God and the Brain, listeners
join Dr. Andrew Newberg for a lucid and enthralling
exploration of the uncharted regions of the mind--and
what this new science means for our health, beliefs, and
quality of life.
